'Les Belles Histoires d'Oncle Paul'.
After the Liberation of Belgium in 1944, Jean-Luc Béghin became highly interested in the American army and aviation. In 1960 he started illustrating for the Belgian equivalent of Yank Magazine. He drew his first comics in the army magazine Nos Forces/Onze Macht. Soon after this debut, he started out at the magazine Spirou, where he illustrated game and editorial pages for over a decade.
'Hubert B. Rainbow'.
Béghin also became head of the aviation section of this magazine, where he made technical drawings of planes. Beghin additionally illustrated some 'Belles Histoires de l'Oncle Paul'. In 1976 he and his family moved to the United States, where he started to illustrate the history of the US Army Air Force. However, in the 1980s he was again present at Spirou with the gag series 'Hubert B. Rainbow'.
