Today thousands took streets again in Tbilisi, Georgia, to demonstrate that Russian law has no place in Georgia. On April 8, 2024, Georgian Dream has reneged on its "promise" not to re-reintroduce the Russian law on Foreign Agents/Foreign Influence. The draft law that further erodes democracy in Georgia, targets civil society and critical media, aligns the country with Russian world [Russki Mir], and undermines the country's constitutional objective of Euro-Atlantic integration. Georgia's European and American partners have openly expressed concerns that such legislation hinders Georgia's path to EU integration. They have expressed the hopes that such law would not be adopted. Citizens' legitimate concerns expressed peacefully, owing to their future which they see in Europe, was once again met with the deploying riot police, resorting to violence, and intimidating own people. Georgia, the country whose over 20% of the territory is occupied by Russia, has a long history of resistance against the occupier. This draft law pulls the country into the Russian orbit, which is contrary to over 80% of the people's choice to become the EU member country. #NoToRussianLaw
