A while ago I’ve updated my description to be more explicit in what kind of jobs I (don’t) want. It is really fun to see how some recruiters react. I have to say some recruiters really read it and come with nice responses. Like for example Simon Oxford, who made a custom video message for me, I was almost sort of sad to reject the offer.
But the main benefits is now that with a few things very clear I just block them now if they waste my time.
So for you recruiters, how it should not be done:
1) send an iOS developer an android job, then if I point it out only ask if I am interested
2) send me a message for a language I never did and am not interested in
3) be the colleague of number 2 and send me like half an hour later a message for a reactive native job while this is explicitly mentioned as something that I don’t do.
Long story short: just block all the bad apples, perhaps then they will learn.
