It's an invasive plant species which has the ability to choke out entire wetlands and destroy crucial spawning grounds for fish and feeding areas for wildlife. The LOWDSA LakeSmart team was able to release Neogalerucella Beetles as a form of biocontrol to help reduce the population of this invasive plant on Coney island, Lake of the Woods.
