Obituary

Theodore LeRoy Hammer of Moses Lake Washington passed away December 28th, 2023, at the age of 93.  He was born December 20th, 1930, in Deming Washington to Raymond Stuart and Orma Blanche Hammer.  He was the tenth of thirteen children.

Theodore had a Passion for the outdoors, animals, and horses.  At a young age he had a talent for free hand drawn art such as horses, army men, cartoon characters and his signature was a little rabbit somewhere in the drawing.  Ted got an early start in the woods with his older brother Howard.  Howard had a team of mules which Ted would skid pulp logs on weekends.  Ted followed in his brother’s footsteps from being a whistles punk, to log trucks, and onto logging for most of his adult life.  Ted bought a small 40-acre farm in Everson Washington; this is where he raised his family.  At first it was a small dairy farm with Jersey cows, but trying to log, run a small dairy farm, clear more land, and raise a young family was much.  So, he converted the small dairy into a small beef farm with chickens, hogs, and horses.  Ted always had horses on the farm but later in life he settled for two English Shire draft horses, named Albert and Alex, they were full brothers.  After the move up to Alaska Ted got plenty of hunting and fishing in, working with his horses and going to Native villages and camp meetings to share the good news of the Lord.  In 2006 Ted and Judy returned to Washington State. Then in November 2007 Ted went on a missionary trip to India.  This was life changing as he saw miracles happen before his eyes as he was praying for the hurting.

Theodore is predeceased by his first wife, Inez D. Hammer of 45 years. He leaves his wife, Judy of 26 ½ years, daughters Paulette, Rene,’ son Randy, daughters Rebecca, and Regina.  Also, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
