Michel Lambot

Michel Lambot is the co-founder and co-president of [PIAS] (Play it Again Sam). Created in 1983 in Brussels, [PIAS] has become a leader of the European independent record industry. In 2015 [PIAS] acquired Harmonia Mundi, the French company and independent worldwide leader in baroque music and a crucial player in the classical landscape. [PIAS] opened an office in New York in 2013 and has set up offices all over Europe since 1990. In 2000, Lambot was one of a handful music entrepreneurs who created IMPALA, a European non-profit organization uniting independent music companies. He was also highly involved in the setup of Merlin, a non-profit organization, representing independent music companies in enhancing the commercial exploitation of their copyrights on a global digital basis. In 1986, Lambot and Kenny Gates created a publishing company called Strictly Confidential which is now the biggest independent publishing company in Belgium and is also an important player in France.
