He is funny and passionate about math but the lectures were not always what they needed to be. Pop quizzes but for extra points mostly:) If you are already great at math I would take him but if you struggle I would not

I passed BARELY. I wouldn't recommend (only to my enemies...got a lot of enemies) he is stress-inducing. & his jokes are kinda lame. I have to retake statistics again. If you're going for the Nursing Program, ask classmates who they took and compare. To each is their own. Good luck.

Just take someone else. That is all. DO NOT Take this professor. If you know you need to pass and you really aren't good in math, especially word problems don't take him!

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews about Professor Janssens. This may be a tough course, but if you actually study and attend class, most of your problems will be solved. Plus, he makes a lot of funny jokes and we all laugh with him.

Will not teach you the material, doesn't have office hours or a TA. Pick any other professor.

Avoid this professor, teaches way to fast, grades very tough, and gives a ridiculous amount of homework that isn't even relevant... Partial credit on tests? Yeah right. Reviews for tests? Nope, none at all, all it is is some homework problems that may or may not be on test. The whole class was always stressed out and in tutoring lab. Avoid, avoid!!

He is genuinely a very cool teacher who really cares. He explains stuff carefully and throughly and isn't afraid to be asked questions about things. He's also very funny, which makes the class more enjoyable.

I had this professor for trigonometry and he taught way too fast!! He can be very condescending at times. Over half the class was lost during his lectures. So many students dropped. One of the worst professors. I would not recommend him for trigonometry.

He was such an amazing professor. He was open to all questions and did his best to explain things differently if you didnt understand. Yes, theres lots of homework, but welcome to a college math class. You need to practice math a lot to get better. Tests were easy and self explanatory and theres plenty of opportunity to get help if you need it

HOMEWORK HEAVY, be ready to work! Hardest i've ever worked in a class & still got a B. Lectures are very well organized with powerpoints & he gives out outlines each lecture for you to supplement your own notes. Tests are hard but he will drop your lowest test grade if you have perfect attendance! Nice, like-able guy but REALLY makes you work.

I would never recommend any of the student to take his class who is a beginner because he is extraordinary tough grader and will never accept late works even if you are in an emergency. He will not pass you even if you are 3 or 4 points away. NEVER TAKE HIS CLASS, if you want to pass it with A. By the end of the semester around 15 students drop

Tests are tough, so much homework but A is not hard to get since you can get up to 200 points from homework. You have to work hard though and do so much homework every single week.

This class was quite difficult for me, had to spend 10 hrs a week on homework and study. But, this was mostly due to me not being great at math. Mr. Janssens did a great job teaching fairly tough material in what felt like a short time. He was always willing to stay after class and answer questions.

This professor is fantastic. He explains material very clearly, plus he's funny. There is a hefty amount of homework, but its necessary to learn material. Tests are split into non-calculatorcalculator sections. They can be easy IF YOU KNOW THE MATERIAL. Random quizzes, no extra credit. Class grade is point accumulative. Strongly recommended.

Disappointed in this teacher. I took two matd classes to help me prepare for this class, and I still had to withdraw. Other students in his class told me the same story. Over complicated and difficult tests worth too much of the grade. 2nd test he gave me a 40 and I couldn't understand why, and he never answered me why such a low grade. Avoid!

Professor Janssens is a GREAT math professor. When he gives out a formula, he explains exactly where it came from. He uses powerpoints to teach and they're very clear and easy to take notes from.

This professor covers the material quickly. His tests are hard, but not unreasonably so. Be prepared to STUDY if you don't already know basic algebra. Although he is hard there are chances to redeem yourself. Bottom line, if you take this course: Attend all lectures and study your butt off.
