Jonathan Scott’s 44th Birthday Tribute to Fiancée Zooey Deschanel Is Straight Out of a Rom-Com

Jonathan Scott went all-out with his birthday tribute to fiancée Zooey Deschanel this year. Her 44th birthday isn’t a milestone celebration, but it certainly is a special year for the dynamic duo, according to the TV personality’s romantic Instagram tribute to his future wife.

Scott shared snapshots of their love together in a video made to look like a scrapbook. He set it to piano music with a heart emoji in the center and added the sweetest caption. “Happy birthday @zooeydeschanel, something tells me that this will be the best year yet,” he wrote alongside a winking and heart emoji. The clip looked like it could be the storyline for one of Hallmark’s Valentine’s Day rom-coms, so if they are looking for new ideas, Scott and Deschanel have it covered!

Deschanel also celebrated the moment with the perfect photo for a birthday queen — a black-and-white image of her wearing a tiara. The second snapshot showed that she wasn’t just honoring her birth, she was also honoring her relationship with Scott. The adorable selfie of the couple over dinner showed them with the rosy glow of love after a romantic dinner together. She wrote, “This triple Capricorn thanks you for all the birthday wishes.”

Scott proposed to The New Girl star during a family trip to Scotland in August 2023 who her children, Charlie Wolf, 6, and Elise Otter, 8, in tow. What makes the exciting moment so cute is that kids, from her first marriage to Jacob Pechenik, thought their mom got married in that moment to the Property Brothers star. After holding a banner that read, “Zooey, will you marry me?” Elsie told Deschanel that she was a little confused.

“When Elsie turned around and read [the sign], that was the first time she learned,” Scott recalled the situation to People last year. “And she immediately goes, ‘Huh, did you just get married?’ And we’re like, ‘Well, no, not yet, but we got engaged.’ And she’s like, ‘Does that mean I get to be a flower girl?’ And we’re like, ‘Yes. Yes, you can.’ So it was really sweet to have them there too.”

The couple hasn’t announced a wedding date to their fans, but as of early December, Deschanel admitted to E! News that they were in the early stages of planning their nuptials. “We don’t know when we’re getting married yet,” Zooey revealed. We’re just enjoying being engaged right now.”
