Rudy Gobert was escorted to the Minnesota Timberwolves locker room after throwing a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout in the second quarter.

Trailing 48-36 to the New Orleans Pelicans with 4:23 left in the first half, Gobert and Anderson appeared to be in a heated argument when Gobert reached across the huddle with a right-handed punch that connected with Anderson's chest.

Gobert was then escorted to the locker room and ruled out by the Timberwolves' PR staff for the second half while Anderson stayed in the game.

With a win over the Pelicans the Timberwolves are guaranteed no worse than the No. 8 seed in the play-in tournament. A win plus a Lakers loss would boost Minnesota to seventh, while a loss to the Pelicans would clinch the No. 9 seed.
