Mathieu Laca is an artist based in Canada whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Germany. His unconventional portraits often feature artists, philosophers, or writers that he admires. Laca paints with oils in many layers, employing both impasto and "accidents" as his central techniques. He uses knives, brushes, and scrapers in the creation of his distinctive figurative compositions.
