 In this presentation, Phylum Phoronida, horseshoe worm is described. The brief description of Phylum Phoronida along with reproduction and fertilization also described. Its relationship with brachiopods as sister groups within Lophotrochozoa. Examples Phoronis architecha, Phoronopsis spp. Approximately 20 species. horseshoe worm, vermiform, marine, and benthic tube dwellers: that live in tubes secreted by special glands either are solitary or occur in groups of many thousands of individuals They use a lophophore in filter feeding. Their bodies (about 2 cm long) are divided into a flaplike epistome, a lophophore- bearing mesosome, and an elongate trunk (metasome). The gut is U-shaped and the anus is close to the mouth. reproduce sexually. There are scanty fossil records for Phoronida. Molecular phylogenies usually depict phoronids and brachiopods as sister groups within Lophotrochozoa Phylum Phoronida Dr. Muhammad Moosa Abro
