134CI INLINE-4, 3SPD TRAN, RUNS/DRIVES WELL, NICE LOOKING, GREAT 4 PARADES, COOL

A military-style Jeep will make anyone take notice, but really, we know why you're stopping to check out this 1955 Willys M38A1 Military Jeep 4x4. After all, it's hard not to get excited about driving the bedrock of freedom, especially when it's this affordable.

Camo green and a big star on the hood help to instantly recognize this as a military-style machine. It even has the right vintage details, like the skinny mud tires, tow rings, and jerrycan mounted on the rear. But we also love that you don't find too many genuine M38A1 machines any more. They strike a cool balance between a true Army recruit and a hood/face that reminds us of the CJ5. It's all done with a careful eye that looks like a complete and duty-ready machine. It even comes with a full soft top and doors.

The Jeep was quite basic inside, and that's part of the fun. This has full seating, and they look like they have newer canvas covers that are still ready for the robust outdoor lifestyle. The steering wheel is thin/grippy steel, and you have the essential gauges in the center. The whole idea is to be both robust and foolproof. That's why the four-wheel drive instructions have their own metal plaque on the ... Please ask for the full description.

That's why the four-wheel drive instructions have their own metal plaque on the dash.

The M38A1 is also desirable because it's a better driver. It starts with the 134 cubic-inch inline-four. As you look at the engine bay, you can see this one keeps a stock style, and there have even been water resistant precautions for fording. This classic powerhouse still fires eagerly, and so it feels as reliable as the American soldier. And the three-speed manual transmission gives you control over it all. The M38A1 struck the right balance where it had a longer wheelbase and better ride than its predecessors, but the frame was more robust than the CJs that were in production at the time.

No matter if you want to use this for parades, ice cream runs, or even genuine off-road driving, this true American hero is ready for its next patriot. Is that you?
