Project Economist (CDF), Zambia

IGC is seeking applications for a Project Economist who will support the Stanford-IGC team on the decentralisation agenda of the Government of Zambia in enhancing the provision of local public goods while limiting leakages. Specifically, the Project Economist will support the implementation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) learning partnership, which is focused on an ongoing large-scale Randomised Controlled Trial that estimates the decentralisation trade-offs at the core of the CDF, including the impacts of decentralised approvals and procurement guidelines on the speed and quality of the CDF's execution.

Working closely with the research team led by Professor Katherine Casey (Stanford University) and the IGC Zambia team led by Shahrukh Wani (IGC and the London School of Economics), the Project Economist (CDF) will work at the intersection of policy and research to collaborate with a range of stakeholders in the government and data collection partners to deliver the RCT including relationship management, supervising logistics for the research activities, cleaning and analysing survey data, and assisting in the writing of project reports and policy memos.

Here you can find the job description and person specification. To apply for this post, please email your resume (max 2 pages) in PDF format with a cover letter in PDF format (max 1 page) outlining why you are suitable for this role to Shahrukh Wani at [email protected].

The closing date for receipt of applications is 12th May (23.59 UK time). Regrettably, we are unable to accept any late applications. Earlier applications are strongly encouraged.
