Artists

Shin Murayama
Born in 1977, Shin Murayama is a mask maker/soft sculptor. Based in New York, alongside the creation of his own work, Murayama was involved in a wide range of activities including the production of artworks for artists such as Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Mahito the People, Kenji Ozawa, and numerous collaborations with fashion brands.

Murayama’s art pieces, where his experience in the fashion industry and technique intersect, are known as ‘Soft Sculptures’. He is renowned for using found materials from his surrounding environment to create new motifs, including masks.

This exhibition, "Poetry in Losing" is closely linked to the artist's decision to leave New York, where he had lived for 15 years, and relocate to Japan earlier this year.
