It's time to broaden our horizons, kids. Sure, we have the bright and shiny Pines and Hemsworths to pick from, the sturdy Damons and Afflecks. A DiCaprio, when he's not in 19th-century bear trapper mode (all that grizzly IS for an upcoming role, technically). But we need a new crush! Thankfully, the heavens have parted and delivered French actor Gaspard Ulliel, 29. Here are seven things you should know about your new beau (whose name is the French equivalent of 'Jasper').

1. He's starring in the anticipated new biopic, Saint Laurent

Playing Yves Saint Laurent himself. The French film premiered in Paris on Tuesday. Gaspard could even make it to this year's Oscars: Saint Laurent has been submitted in the race for best foreign-language film.

2. But he's got some stiff competition

Saint Laurent is the second of two French biopics of the designer released this year. The other, Yves Saint Laurent, debuted at Cannes and has backing from the Weinstein Company. Compare the two trailers.

3. Gaspard has dipped into American fare

With films like 2007's Hannibal Rising, 2004's A Very Long Engagement and 2006's Paris je t'aime (not an American film, but you know, quite popular).

4. Scorsese directed him!

In a Chanel commercial. It counts.

5. He technically has a girlfriend.

Who is quite pretty. And a model.

6. He's social media-friendly

The actor is on Twitter (but not Instagram, sadly).

7. And he's mastered the scruffy look.

And knows how to rock a man-bun. This kid's got it. Now someone cast him in something franchise-y, stat.
