“It’s tiiiime!” It’s what Mariah Carey declares every November 1st, when the Queen of Christmas officially defrosts herself and prepares to dominate the holiday airwaves. The singer’s takeover of the season has already begun. This month, she will kick off her “Merry Christmas One and All” tour, with performances through December. “I really do believe in the magic of the holidays,” Carey says. “It’s one of the reasons I go all out for the season the way that I do. It’s a time to celebrate being together, and I cherish those moments. From the matching pajamas, to the music and celebrations, it’s all so special.”
Today, Carey continues that momentum by starring in a new holiday campaign for Victoria’s Secret. Against a festive red backdrop and snowy terrain, Carey models the lingerie brand’s corsets, cami sets, slip dresses, and robes. “It was so fun seeing the new collection and their creative vision come to life,” says Carey of the campaign. “From the seasonal colors to the vibrant glam—I definitely felt the holiday spirit all around me.” She particularly likes the new collection’s versatility. “I like that the different pieces I wore have different vibes to them—some are cozy and festive, and others are more sexy and playful,” she says. “One of my favorite looks was the gold set with these beautiful, intricate embellishments. It really felt like holiday glamour when I put it on.”
Given the holidays are about to kick off into full swing, Vogue couldn’t resist asking Carey about her approach to dressing for the season’s parties and events. Her biggest tip? Play up the glitz. “My idea of holiday dressing has always consisted of glamorous styles that truly complement the season in a fun and festive way,” she says. “I love selecting looks that feel like their own celebratory moment.” She even has her sights set on rocking the lingerie pieces from the campaign as clothing. “One of the tops I wore in the campaign—the stunning red corset—would be perfect for a holiday extravaganza. I love that the satin bows feel like you’re unwrapping a present. It's the perfect mix of camp, sexy, and glam.”

Carey will no doubt show off a fabulous party look (or several) during the holiday season, not to mention some extravagant fashions on-stage during her tour. But she’s making plenty of time for her traditions. “My kids and I perfected our ultimate Christmas celebrations, and we try to stick to them every year,” she says. “Our favorite traditions are: A night time sleigh ride, seeing Santa Claus, opening presents underneath the tree, playing in the snow, cooking our family recipes, and most importantly, spending time together.” As for what may be on her Christmas wish list this year? “‘I don’t want a lot for Christmas,’ to quote myself. I really just want to enjoy the holiday with my friends, loved ones, and of course, my fans on my ‘Merry Christmas One and All’ tour!”
