Saves hundreds of dollars on rental fees. Easy set-up cost of modem pays for it's self in ten month's. Motorola is one of the best names in the business. You won't go wrong with this one.

This modem saves me hundreds on rental costs.

Unbox and plug in, call my provider and give them the MAC address from the clearly marked label, and that's it. In my case, this unit tripled my download speed as expected and do not anticipate having to even think about it again. It is on my provider's list for supported equipment, I don't have to rent their's, and because it is Motorola is will last forever. What's not to like?

Better than netgear.  I bought both this and that and return the other. Love this Motorola, no interruption of service. All my webpages open fast.

Great product.

Way better than the Arris Docsis 3.1!!!!   This is a much better modem by far!  Not a problem with this modem. My Arris crapped out at week 2.

Get this over Arris

The Modem is really tall. I'd prefer a smaller modem. At the time of writing this review, I have only had the modem for about a week now. You have to call your Cable provider and give them the Mac Address (number) from the label on the bottom of the modem before it will work with your cable service. After I did that, the modem had no trouble connecting to the internet. It's pretty much plug and play. The cable representative told me that he thought it was overkill. He likened it to buying a Ferrari and only driving it 55 MPH because I only have a 100 mbps down stream plan.  He said that their company (Wave Cable) dropped this particular modem from their list of approved high speed modems because of many of their customers experiencing frequent random disconnects using this modem. So far, I haven't experienced that, but as I said, I've only had it for one week, now. Time will tell. I'm considering upgrading to the 1 gig down stream plan to find out if this Ferrari will really do 1 gig.

Wave Cable said that I don't need a Ferrari

The technician who installed the internet connection at my house did not take long to install and activate this modem. So far, I have had no outages or service problems due to the router (I live by myself. No roommates, or so).

Take care, though: This is a modem only! It connects your home to the internet, but it does not provide Wi Fi signal. You have to take care of that by yourself, either by purchasing a normal Wi Fi router, or a set of mesh routers (the latter is definitely your go-to option if your home is larger than 1200 - 1500 sq. ft.). If you are not familiar with all these technicalities, definitely talk to someone who is.

Good modem "not a Wi Fi router"

Was sold an used modem. How do I know  this -because when I tried to register it I couldn't because it was already registered to someone else's account.

Not happy being sold an used item

This device was defective.  It looked as through it had been refurbished or tampered with.  Once plugged in it began smoking. Luckily I was still in my office and it did not catch on fire.  It could have been a disaster.

After 1 week modem is dropping my connection. Talked to internet provider on which this was listed as an approved modem. They claim they just issued a service bulletin that this modem has been having issues of losing connectivity .Will work after a reboot for a while then same thing. Mill be contacting seller for return or exchange.

I bought one of those modems from Walmart, it is very slow on download and upload. I'm trying to return it I have been given the runaround the seller keeps  telling me to take it to Walmart to get a refund and Walmart is telling me it's not their problem you have to deal with the seller directly, this is a nightmare that Walmart must put a stop to since I bought it from their website
