Nigerians ‘ordering pizza from London and using British Airways to make 4,000-mile delivery’

FAST food fans in Nigeria are ordering pizza from the UK and flying them 4,000 miles to Nigeria on British Airways flights, the country's Government has sensationally claimed.
Minister of agriculture Audu Ogbeh said that Nigerians are "using their cellphones to import pizza from London".

It has led to ridicule online, with Twitter-users asking BA if they are operating an international pizza delivery service.
One joked: "Dear @British_Airways, how come you didn’t tell us you run a pizza delivery service to Nigeria? Is there an app for this?"
Mr Ogbeh made the stunning claim as he expressed concern about Nigeria's over-reliance on imports.
He told the Senate Committee on Agriculture in Abuja: "They buy (pizza) in London, they bring it on British Airways in the morning to pick up at the airport.
"It is a very annoying situation and we have to move a lot faster in cutting down some of these things."

The Government in Nigeria is trying to cut down on imported food.
They say imports are harming the local economy
Mr Ogbeh said: "Nigeria is a nation of importers."
He added: "The farmers are losing money because the processors do not have enough funds to set up factories."
