Softball Returns Home for Weekend Set with George Washington

The Rams and Revolutionaries will play a doubleheader Saturday before a single game Sunday afternoon

BRONX, N.Y. – Returning to the friendly confines of Bahoshy Field for a three-game set this weekend, Fordham University Softball hosts George Washington in an A-10 series this weekend. The Rams and Revolutionaries are set for a doubleheader Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ahead of the final game Sunday at noon as well.

Top of the Order

  • Fordham (14-19-1, 5-4 A-10) are coming off a weekend series win at George Mason, where the Rams claimed the final two games against the Patriots, 10-1 and 3-1.

  • The Rams have sat all season as the league leaders in total doubles and doubles per game, while sitting second best in the league in walks drawn as a team

  • The Rams are also second in the A-10 in home runs per game, and third in slugging percentage, while defensively ranking second in the league in fielding percentage as well.

  • Three Rams are hitting .299 or better heading into Tuesday, led by Sydney Wells, Kate McGuire, and Bailey Enoch.

  • One of three players to start and play in every game this season, Enoch leads the team with 32 hits and 26 runs scored, with 19 extra-base hits, scattering 11 doubles, three triples, and five home runs.

  • Wells leads the team in RBI's with 38, while tallying 31 hits and 17 runs scored, with 10 doubles and a team best nine home runs, while pacing the Rams in walks with 16, slashing .323/.708/.422 in 32 games played.

The Bronx Loves "2"

  • No we're not talking about Derek Jeter, but the fact that Fordham enters the weekend sitting Top-10 in the nation in doubles as a team, leading the A-10 with 61 on the year.

  • The Rams are averaging 1.79 doubles per game, which also leads the conference and places them 14th amongst 296 Division I schools.

  • Enoch and Gianna Sarlo are tied for the conference lead in doubles per game and total doubles with 11 apiece, while Wells sits just behind them in third with 10 on the year.

What About Wells

  • Wells paces the conference with 38 RBIs which is good for 27th best amongst all Division I players, while her 1.19 RBIs per game are 20th best in the nation.

  • Leading the league with eight home runs, she ranks 53rd nationally in home runs and 62nd in home runs per game.

  • Also sitting atop the league's doubles standings, Wells is 69th nationally in total doubles while sitting 93rd in the country in doubles per game.

  • With 68 total bases, Wells leads the league, while her .708 slugging percentage ranks second best in the A-10.

Enoch Eating

  • Another one of the top hitters in the Fordham order, Enoch sits tied for first in the A-10 in total doubles and doubles per game.

  • Enoch sits third best amongst all conference players with 64 total bases, just four back of the league lead.

  • With a slugging percentage of .598, she sits sixth best in the league in that category.

Devon Doin' Damage

  • Placing second in the league, Miller is averaging 5.57 hits per in hits allowed per seven innings, and ranked third highest in the conference for innings pitched at 98.0 this season.

  • With 83 K's in 2024, Miller sits third best in the A-10 in total strikeouts, and 87th best in the nation.

Taking Bases

  • With 13 stolen bases on the year on 13 tries, Neleh Nogay sits fifth best in the league in stolen bases and sixth best in stolen bases per game, both placing her amongst the top-100 players in the nation.

  • Enoch is a perfect 7-of-7 on stolen bases, while Mikayla Swan has nabbed four bases in five tries.

  • Wells leads the team in walks with 15, ahead of Enoch and Michaela Carter who have drawn 13 apiece.

  • Nogay has also recorded three sac fly's on the year, providing a trio of runs for the Rams and placing herself as the league leader in that category, and tied 47th in the nation.

Flashback to Fairfax

  • Heading down to Virginia for a doubleheader Friday afternoon, Fordham rattled off 12 hits and drew five more walks as they cruised to a win 10-1 Friday.

  • Neleh Nogay would draw four walks on the day including three in four plate appearances in game four, while Sydney Wells led the Rams with three RBI's.

  • One of seven Fordham hitters with an RBI in game two, Nicki Sudall tallied a pair of RBIs, while all nine batters reached base safely at least once to close the afternoon.

  • Seven Rams would record a run scored with Bailey Enoch, Bella Ayala and Kate McGuire each coming around to score twice in the afternoon, while four different players recorded multiple hits in the latter game of the day.

  • The Rams would tally a run early and rip a pair of solo home runs Saturday, but it would take late inning heroics on the defensive end to give Fordham a 3-1 win over George Mason Saturday afternoon.

  • Kate McGuire would tally a pair of RBI's on the day including one on her first homer of the season, with Sydney Wells also leaving the yard Sunday afternoon.

  • In the circle, Devon Miller recorded her eighth complete game of the year, picking up her sixth win of the season, while recording nine strikeouts, a season-high.

  • Michaela Carter would keep George Mason off the board in the sixth, robbing a home run with a leaping grab at the wall and bringing it back over the fence for the second out of the frame.

Going At George Washington

  • Holding the same record as the Rams in league play, George Washington (18-15, 5-4 A-10) took the middle game of a three-game set against Saint Louis last weekend, claiming an 11-1 on Friday.

  • Hitting .416 on the year, Alena Ramirez leads the Revolutionaries with 37 hits on the year, while eight different players have tallied at least 20 hits, and seven of those enter the weekend hitting .300 or better individually.

What's On Deck

  • The Rams head to Army on Wednesday for a single non-conference game in West Point, N.Y. at 3:00 p.m.
