Lost dog advice

Stray dogs are often picked up by a member of the public and handed into the Police, Dog Warden or local vet.

If you have lost your dog then, to take immediate action, firstly, inform the police. Police, at the present date, are still responsible for dogs in Scotland. It is a good idea to contact your local Police Office, even further afield too, as your dog may have been picked up and dropped off in another area. Police in different areas do not pass details of lost dogs onto other area offices.
